I got my new Sony VG-20 for days. I did some video recordings, which was shot at 50p. I found FCP 7 will not recognize avchd footage from Sony nex vg 20. How can one deal with this? Thanks to all who can tell.
Featuring a 16.1-megapixel Exmor APS HD CMOS sensor for gorgeous depth of field, Sony NEX-VG20 is in a class of its own. Record 1920x1080/24p AVCHD video with smoother motion. It allows videographers to explore the artistic potential of the growing range of E-Mount lenses for shooting cinematic Full HD video and high-resolution still photos. While we are pleased with the video quality of the recordings, the trouble with the 1080p 50 video is that Final Cut Pro can not recognize these 50p files at all, whether you transfer them directly from your VG20 or from the video folder which has been copied to Mac. Is there any workaround to resolve the issue FCP 7 won’t recognize Sony NEX-VG20 footage?
Something prevents the users from easily importing Sony NEX-VG20 AVCHD to FCP 7 on Mac OS X is that FCP 7 cannot ingest 1080 60p or 50p files natively.
