Getting Started:

Note: The below steps work on Windows PC, the workflow for Mac users is almost the same. Just get the right version of the applied software like TiVo Desktop, TiVo HD converter.

1. Transfer TiVo TV shows to PC

Launch TiVo Desktop software on your PC. Connect TiVo to your home network, and then the TiVo Desktop will provide you with a list of shows for transferring to your PC. Then please transfer the TiVo TV shows you want to PC. Once all the shows you selected have been downloaded from your TiVo, they will appear in the Now Playing list in TiVo Desktop.

Tip: If you'd like to watch them on your PC, you can play them right from TiVo Desktop. If you'd like to watch them on your iPod, PSP, iPad, Galaxy Tab or burn them to DVD, it's time to open the TiVo Converter.

2. Add TiVo files to the program

Launch the TiVo HD Video Converter and press "Option" button. Switch to "TiVo" tab in Option window, and enter TiVo Media Access Key.

Then, click the Add button to import TiVo recordings to the TiVo convert tool for converting.

3. Select output format for TiVo

Click "Format" and select a target format. Basically you can choose .mp4, .mov, .avi, .flv, .3gp and more from the "Common Video" profile list. Plus, there are optimized presets for iPod, iPad, Apple TV, PSP, Samsung, Motorola, Acer, Asus, Sony, Toshiba, HTC, etc branded media devices; just choose a proper one as you need.

Tip- Video/Audio settings:

To get the best video quality and sound effect, you are allowed to easily adjust video/audio parameters such as bitrate, sample rate, frame rate, codec, channels, etc after clicking on "Settings".

4. Trim TiVo shows

The TiVo recordings may need a little trimming for viewing. The recorded TV shows and movies tend to have commercials, you can use the converter's Trim feature to get rid of these.

5. Start converting TiVo to any HD video format

Click Convert button to start TiVo to MP4, MKV, AVI, MOV, FLV, MPG conversion. The conversion process will take a while, and you'll see an encoding progress bar.
