Can’t Merge AVI Files with VirtualDub Correctly - Solution
"I have some videos on an old MiniDV camcorder that I offloaded into AVI files. It broke the 40 minute video into 4 files. three of them are 12:30 and the last one is 3:32. If I open up any of the individual files, they all show the correct length. But when I added the files to VirtualDub and combine these AVI files, it gives the wrong length video. I've never had this problem before. Can anyone recommend what might be causing this? Or any easier solution for me?"
Encountered issues when combing AVI files in VirtualDub? In this article, we aim to help you fast solve the issue.
By default VirtualDub automatically appends all sequentially numbered files when you append. So if you have file1.avi, file2.avi, file3.avi, and file4.avi, and you open file1.avi, then append file2.avi, file3.avi and file4.avi will automatically be appended too. Notice at the bottom of the append dialog there's the option "Autodetect additional segments by filename". Have a try. It may help you out.
